Dear Todd
Just thought I’d drop you a quick line to thank you again for the lovely arena! It is now nearly 3 years old, and still riding beautifully!
As you know, our arena is definitely a high use traffic area, and gets between 30- 50 rides per week, more when I host clinics. Such use in one area obviously requires a surface that is low in dust, easy to maintain, and with a base that is secure. All of which your ELD arena has proven to be.
One of the best things about your arena, is I can trust it not to be slippery or uneven, which makes training young horses less of a drama, particularly as they learn to find their feet in canter! My young horses work confidently, are happy to move forward as they have complete confidence in where they place their hoofs.
In the 8 years prior to having an ELD arena, I went through a series of DIY cheaper options, on average was costing me $3K-$4K per year. I tried Woodchip (too slippery in high rainfall areas), pulp (which became dusty in 6 months and very uneven), and sand on the natural base (the base eventually working through the surface making dangerous sink holes). All of these surfaces became unrideable after nearly 12 – 18 months of high use, and in wet weather, were unable to ride on them safely for 5 days or more. As a professional rider, this made it impossible to reliably train my horses, particularly in the lead up to a competition. I was constantly concerned for my horse’s legs and tendons, and respiratory system in the dust.
Gypsie Lodge Equestrian Centre also has a riding school, with 7 school horses and ponies, hosts clinics with master trainers, and offers agistment facilities to First Time Horse owners, Pleasure Horse owners and Competitive riders. Having such a good looking arena is a real show piece for the property.
So once again, to Todd and Equestrian Land Developments, THANKYOU for your amazing arena, I would be very happy to recommend your arenas to ANY horse person requiring a well drained, good looking, low dust, good surface and secure based arena.
Yours sincerely,
